Independent Projects
Below are a series of independent projects I completed in 2023/2024. Each garment was made from either draping technique or made from flat patterns. These garments show my attention to detail, range of design eye and my capability to complete projects to perfection.
I made this dress for my cousins wedding in summer 2023. The front cowl has a rouched detail with a cowled back and spaghetti straps. The fabric is an archived print from a family friend. Perfect for a Miami wedding!
This vintage inspired bomber is made from 100% virgin italian wool and lined with silk I made as a gift. This jacket is a twist on the 50's bomber jackets with an oversized collar, front welt pockets, cropped waist and oversized sleeves. I feel that I added my own flare by using suiting weight fabric to elevate the piece. All seams are D/N T/S
This ball gown was my sisters cotillion dress. With the modesty requirements of the cotillion group, it was difficult to create a gown that suited both the guidelines of cotillion and the desires of a strapless gown my sister had. We settled with this 2" waterfall strap holding onto the gown with its water-droplets or pearls if you'd like to be literal :)
This dress is repurposed from my cotillion dress! After seam ripping the entire gown I had PLENTY of fabric to complete her dream design.
Lastly is this tank I made for a summer vacation. The pleating adds depth to this otherwise simple top. The flattering sweetheart neckline and flowy nature of this top made the perfect summer vacation top!
